We welcome Giulio Donolo, who has joined EnerMech in the newly created role of Head of Pre-commissioning, to drive further growth in our Pipelines and Subsea business.
Giulio has more than 16 years of energy sector experience gained while working at Saipem since completing a master’s degree in Chemical and Process Engineering from the University of Trieste in Italy. He started his career at Saipem in Fano, Italy, and after a year as a Process Engineer, he moved into a pre-commissioning-focused role.
For the last four years, he has led the pipeline pre-commissioning departments. Successfully combining his flow assurance background with his pipeline pre-commissioning and installation experience on complex projects, Giulio has a proven track record in delivering pioneering solutions to support the successful execution of challenging operations.
Giulio brings a wealth of international expertise, having worked at several of Saipem’s global locations including Aberdeen, Rio de Janeiro, Paris, and Cairo. He has also gained valuable experience aboard the company’s support vessels as a Project Engineer, where he directly supervised pre-commissioning operations on deepwater and ultra-deepwater projects around the world.
Based in Italy, Giulio will report to John Grover, Strategic Sales Director, and collaborate with the regional BD and tender teams, as well as our established community of technical experts.
Through direct involvement with pre-commissioning customers and stakeholders, Giulio will help optimize execution plans for major projects, with a key focus on construction and installation interfaces—further enhancing the technical perception and commercial attractiveness of our offering.
Our strategic intent is to build scale across Pipelines and Subsea, maintaining a regional focus as we continue to match local needs with global capability. Giulio will support our strategy with his expert knowledge in pipeline installation and pre-commissioning.
