The move to decarbonize our energy systems is swiftly ramping up across the globe.
The development of cleaner energy sources will provide greater diversification of both source and supply. A significant element of this is the growth in LNG, now being fast-tracked across the world to address the need to strengthen energy security against a backdrop of continued geopolitical unrest.
To meet this fast-paced demand requires organizations with commissioning expertise that are agile, adaptable and highly skilled in delivering projects to the highest quality, efficiently, cost effectively and safely.
EnerMech, with our wealth of expertise and proven capability of delivering workscopes which meet and exceed these demands, has firmly established us as a trusted, proven partner on crucial, often high-profile LNG projects across the world.
Going big in Canada
Canada’s largest LNG development, based in British Columbia, will generate enough gas to power eight million homes. Progressing this required a partner and specialist contractor that could deliver at scale, navigate complex environments and build trust with local communities. The partner needed to provide a wide range of pre-commissioning services for a 14MTPA, two-train modular LNG production and export facility.
As the chosen contractor we completed multiple scopes during the pre-commissioning phase, including:
Temporary plant utilities (nitrogen, air, demineralised water)
Air blows
Hydroblasting
Lube oil flushing
Cooling water cleaning and passivation
AGRU degreasing and operational pressure leak testing
Leak Testing (HP/LP)
Drying and nitrogen inerting
PSV and valve testing
The successful delivery incorporated the input of multi-skilled teams, leveraged our deep asset fleet and our strong network of supplier partnerships and was instrumental in the achievement of key project milestones.
Our integrated approach enabled seamless coordination across business lines, ensuring timely delivery of equipment and personnel. Strong collaboration with local stakeholders and project partners helped foster a positive working environment and contributed to the overall success of the development.
Mega-projects in Australia
The success of the Canadian project built on EnerMech’s LNG capabilities, developed and honed across some of Australia’s mega-projects. We grew our reputation delivering projects such as Curtis Island LNG, Inpex’s Ichthys and Chevron’s Gorgon and Wheatstone developments, establishing globally acknowledged credentials which directly impacted on our success in securing future projects, including those in the growing market of Angola.
Other global LNG projects have included those in Mauritania and Senegal where we demonstrated our ability to maintain continuity across complex international supply chains, both on and offshore. We worked alongside leading engineering, technology and shipping organizations to provide specialist bolting and flange management, nitrogen purging and nitrogen helium leak-testing services from the construction yard in China, through integration work in Singapore during transit to final destination off the coast of Mauritania.
Those projects have shaped and expanded the toolbox of services we now deliver internationally; an integrated specialty service portfolio covering flange management, leak testing, cleanliness inspections, nitrogen and hydro testing, mechanical and electrical completions, pre-commissioning and start-up assistance.
Over the past 15 years we have supported more than 20 LNG facilities worldwide across every major LNG producing region, from those in Australia to new terminals in Europe and North America.
We have achieved this as a proven service provider that can operate at the highest levels across the full lifecycle of a facility. We can rapidly mobilise our skilled teams and carry out multi-disciplinary scopes while always maintaining the highest standards of safety and quality.
LNG is a crucial element of the future energy mix, and having proven our credentials time and again, EnerMech is well placed to play a leading role in driving the development of the vital infrastructure to take it forward.
