Integrated solutions specialist EnerMech has been awarded a five-year, multi-million-dollar contract by TotalEnergies EP Congo for crane and lifting maintenance at a new facility to be built in Pointe-Noire, the second-largest city in Congo.

The scope of work includes maintenance of crane and lifting equipment, as well as onshore and offshore parts supply for three offshore sectors, including Likouf and Nkossa. The agreement also covers riser pulling systems, mooring, and tensioning systems.

EnerMech has established a new entity, EnerMech Congo, to carry out the work and has subcontracted a local Congolese company, Congo Services, to assist in delivery.

The company is recruiting local Congolese personnel for onshore contract support roles, with experienced local maintenance crew members being provided by the subcontractor. The new facility in Pointe-Noire will benefit the area by establishing a lasting technical presence and creating local employment opportunities.

EnerMech has previously worked with TotalEnergies SE on projects across the African continent and has also operated in Congo under contract to Technip on the Moho Nord project.

Steve Swanson, Vice President for Africa at EnerMech, said:
“We have a well-established relationship with TotalEnergies that goes back many years. We’re very pleased they continue to see the value in the trusted and experienced service we provide and have chosen EnerMech for this new project in Congo.”

Regional Director for Africa, Middle East & Caspian, added:
“EnerMech has been very successful in securing new and retaining existing crane and lifting operations and maintenance contracts, as well as extending frame agreements across Europe, Africa, the Middle East, Caspian, and Asia.

This success is due to many factors, including well-thought-out execution plans, a strong focus on solution delivery, our safety culture, and our highly qualified project management and engineering teams who bring years of industry experience.

We are committed to not only meeting but exceeding local content requirements by engaging our global network of subject matter experts with minimal expat resourcing. We also have a highly successful, proactive regional employee training and development plan. Where possible—as is the case here with Congo Services—we engage in-country subcontractors and utilize local supply chains.”
