EnerMech recently sponsored the 2026 National Junior Chess Championships in Guyana in a further display of commitment to the region. The energy services provider, who has been operational in Guyana since 2019, backed the Championship Qualifiers Tournament which took place in early July.
Darrel Sookdeo, Vice President – Caribbean at EnerMech, said: “EnerMech is committed to supporting the next generation of Guyanese nationals in ensuring that they have the skills and jobs to support the country’s developing energy sector.
“As part of that, we know the value that extracurricular activities can have for those in their formative years and we’re proud to have contributed to this year’s National Junior Chess Championships.”
Hosted by the Guyana Chess Federation, the qualifiers and main tournament took place at Olympic House in Liliendaal, East Coast Demerara.
