In a first for the business, EnerMech has been awarded a five-year contract to provide its specialist offshore crane operation and maintenance services in Malaysia—marking the company’s first such contract in Asia.
EnerMech’s global team of crane operators, mechanics, inspectors, and technicians is being deployed to the region to deliver crane operations and maintenance services across several offshore assets. The team will transfer and provide competency training to a number of qualified local personnel from the incumbent’s workforce, integrating them into EnerMech’s operations to ensure consistent project support for the client.
The specialist technical solutions firm is also looking to hire new talent within the region to support the delivery of the contract.
A spokesperson at EnerMech, said:
“As we continue with our strategic growth plans around the world, securing this long-term contract in Asia with a client we already support in other regions plays a key role in our progression. It underlines how our integrated technical solutions, complemented by our collaborative approach with clients, are being recognized and increasingly sought after.”
EnerMech’s Regional Director for Asia Pacific, added:
“Our strong track record and understanding of this client’s operations, combined with our global crane experience, ensure we are ideally positioned to provide an optimized technical solution to support each campaign across all assets covered in this new contract.
Bringing EnerMech’s safety culture is central to each campaign. As we transition many of the existing Malaysian team into our workforce and look to recruit additional local talent, we will offer incentives to retain employees and provide competency training. We are fully committed to developing talent locally and offering sustainable career opportunities in-country.”
With operations across the globe, EnerMech’s cranes and lifting division has supported several key industries over the past 40 years. In addition to the oil and gas sector, it also supports LNG, high-tech, nuclear, and clean energy. Its nine interconnected specialist service lines provide integrated technical solutions that reduce project complexities across the full asset lifecycle for its global clientele.
