Ian has more than 30 years industry experience as a senior business and technical leader for several tier one IOC’s managing and leading complex functional and operational teams in some of the world’s most challenging environments.
Initially from a marine / mechanical engineering background as a Chief Engineer in the Merchant Navy, Ian has senior leadership and operational experience within the upstream, petrochemical, refining, marine and asset management industries globally, having worked in the Philippines, Sakhalin Island, Oman, Azerbaijan, Indonesia, Australia, Singapore and South Africa, working with companies like Shell, PDO, Woodside and BP across asset operations, operations readiness & assurance, commissioning, plant start-up’s, operations excellence, reliability and maintenance management.
With a robust assurance career, having spent many years in PDO in Oman in the Middle East as the Senior SIA (Shell Internal Auditor) and Head of Internal Investigation, Ian has engaged with government audit stakeholders, planning audits, managing, and leading complex project, operations and business control framework audits, value assurance stage reviews, due diligence reviews, risk assessments, and business control failure incident investigations.
Ian leads our global O&M and Shutdowns & Turnarounds offering with a strategic approach as we seek to add further value to our clients by simplifying complex multi-phase campaigns through the delivery of integrated solutions.
