Mechanical services and training specialist EnerMech Ltd have invested £500,000 in larger new premises in Great Yarmouth.
The company has taken over the former British Gas complex in Southtown Road as it prepares to extend the range of services offered from its East Anglian base.
A further £500,000 has been invested in a new state-of-the-art crane simulator which will enhance the training and assessment services provided to the crane and heavy lifting industries.
EnerMech, which acquired Yarmouth training provider A1 Safety Training Consultants last October, specialises in the supply, maintenance and engineering of cranes, lifting and hydraulic equipment, crane personnel and safety training.
The enlarged workshop and warehouse facilities now available in Great Yarmouth will allow EnerMech to roll out other service lines, including the rental of hand tool and zoned equipment, used by oil and gas operators and contractors in the Southern North Sea.
The company’s Great Yarmouth operation services major energy sector clients including CNR, Saipem, Perenco, AMEC and Wood Group.

The company recently invested £6 million in a new global headquarters based in Aberdeen which follows on from the £8.5 million acquisition of two Middle East based firms, Pavitt Energy and Scotia Oilfield Trading.
EnerMech Ltd was formed in April 2008 and offers a safer, more customer-focused, responsive service with lower costs in the mechanical services sector within the energy industry, while delivering a much greater level of engineering and technical support than competitors can offer.
The company specialises in the supply, maintenance and engineering of cranes, lifting and hydraulic equipment, rental of hand tools and zoned equipment and provision of training and specialist personnel to the energy industry.

EnerMech’s five director-owners are backed by private equity firm Lime Rock Partners and together have in place a £30 million plus funding package to facilitate organic growth and further acquisitions.
